Alex grew up in south Florida where he came to faith in Jesus Christ while a young boy. He eventually earned his B.S. from Clemson University in Clemson, SC and his MDiv. and Ph.D. from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, NC. He is married to his lovely wife Jenna and together they have three children. In their spare time, Alex and Jenna enjoy reading, traveling, and hosting people in their home. Alex is the author of Spurgeon: A Life and Spurgeon and the Poor. He has also published numerous articles with the Gospel Coalition, 9Marks ministries, and the Spurgeon Center.
